y son and I are on a mission to explore alternative learning spaces, and our recent journey led us to Azadwadi in Gurgaon, a remarkable initiative led by Azad.

Nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this serene village setting immediately captivated us with its tranquility and natural beauty.

A Day at Azadwadi

As soon as we arrived, we fell in love with the silence and the enchanting surroundings. The campus is adorned with bamboo structures, a lush garden growing a variety of vegetables, and the delightful presence of peacocks, cows, and goats wandering freely.

The environment is a harmonious blend of nature and learning, creating a perfect backdrop for holistic education.

It was lovely to meet Azad, the founder of Azadwadi, and learn about his views on alternative education and the importance of learning in alternative spaces.

Engaging with the Community

One of the highlights of Azadwadi is the active involvement of village women who come to share their skills and work with the children. Throughout our visit, we saw numerous workshops taking place, offering kids the chance to engage in diverse activities such as:

  • Art and Painting: Children expressed their creativity through vibrant art projects.
  • Pottery: They learned the ancient craft of pottery, shaping clay into beautiful creations.
  • Wall Building: Practical skills were honed as kids participated in constructing walls.
  • Growing Food: Understanding the basics of agriculture by planting and tending to the garden.
  • Cooking with Locals: Learning to cook traditional dishes with the guidance of local women.
  • Conversations and Songs: Engaging in enriching dialogues and enjoying folk songs from the villagers.

Adventure in the Aravallis

Azadwadi's proximity to the Aravalli hills adds an element of adventure to the learning experience. Adi and I went on a little morning trek, witnessing a breathtaking sunrise that left us in awe.

The Aravallis also offer opportunities for moonwalks and more extensive treks, providing a perfect blend of physical activity and nature appreciation.

A Memorable Experience

Our conversations with the local women were another highlight of our visit. Their warmth and hospitality were truly heartwarming, and we were treated to some of the most delicious homemade food.

The entire experience was both enriching and inspiring.

Why More Families Should Visit Azadwadi

Our time at Azadwadi was a beautiful experience that reinforced our belief in the power of alternative learning spaces. The combination of nature, community, and hands-on learning creates an environment where children can thrive and discover their true potential.

I strongly feel that more families should experience what Azadwadi has to offer. It's not just a place for learning; it's a space for growth, connection, and inspiration.

If you're looking for an educational experience that goes beyond the traditional classroom, Azadwadi is a must-visit.

Join us in exploring these incredible spaces and witness firsthand how they can transform the way we think about learning and living
