t has been raining these days and I can hardly stop myself from getting drenched. Whenever I get the opportunity to get wet in the rain I try not to miss it.
I also asked a lot of people about what memories they had of rain as a child, It was lovely to see that many of them mentioned the simple activities they enjoyed in their childhood. You can read the responses in newsletter #005
Kids are automatically attracted to rain as they have an affinity for exploration and nature. It is a great idea to let your kids play in the rain as it will not only make them happy but also keep them healthy. Here are some of the benefits of playing in rain for your children.
Rainy days give children a chance to use their imagination and be creative- Kids move, they dance, they jump in the rain. It’s a great way to explore the world and its abilities.
Adi plays in the mud, last time he told me that mud made his feet very smooth and I told him that in the olden day's people used mud for cleaning their bodies.
Playing in the rain helps children develop gross motor skills- All that movement is helping them develop their gross motor skills—the big movements of the arms and legs. When they’re using those muscles, they’re also improving their balance, coordination, and strength
Rainy days are a great opportunity to teach children about science- Children are fascinated by rain. They want to know how and why it happens. Take advantage of their curiosity and help them understand the science behind the rain.
It's an opportunity to talk about the weather, monsoons, and the effects of monsoons in the city they live.

Rainy days are a great opportunity for bonding with your children- What’s more fun than playing in the rain with your kids? You can make some great memories while you’re at it.

Hang the wet clothes on the balcony or terrace to dry. Help them understand how sun and wind help in drying the clothes. You can also teach them how to iron their clothes.

After all the fun, children will be tired and sleepy. This is a great opportunity to unwind and relax. Let them take a nap or read a book.
The last time it rained I was tired after work and I could see how relaxing it felt, I love to close my eyes and face the rain drops.
Playing in the rain can help children positively use their energy-
Rainy days can be frustrating for children as they can’t go out and play. But if you let them play in the rain, they use their time creatively.
Last week our work was affected by rain and generally in small-town rains and storm is followed by no electricity and no internet connection, this was a perfect chance for us to use the time positively dancing away.

We have played in rain as a child and I am sure by keeping some precautions in mind like hygiene kids can be safe.
People might think you are crazy-
It is normal for people to stay indoors and be safe in the rain so they might not like your idea of getting wet with your kid.
But trust me, once you see your kids having the time of their lives, you won’t care what others thinks.
Energy and Exercise-
It's a great way for them to burn off energy and get some exercise. Plus, playing in the rain can help your kids learn about water safety and how to stay safe in wet conditions.
A Great Bonding Experience-
Spending time together outdoors in the rain can help you and your kids connect with nature and each other. You should see the happiness kids get when parents join their party.
If you do not like the idea of getting wet in the rain, you can still enjoy the rain from inside your house.
You can sit by the window and watch the raindrops fall. You can also listen to the sound of the rain. This is a great way to relax and unwind.
Take this as an opportunity to cozy up with a book to read or watch your favorite movie with kids.

3 Activities you should not miss when it's raining:
1) Make a paper boat and put it in flowing water
2) Cook something warm and enjoy it with the kids
3) Make a rain gauge to measure rainfall
Take care to dry up their hair and other body parts well after rain, if needed give them a wash with and put on clean dry clothes.
Trust me you will thank me one day! These are memories that you will make together and kids will remember this forever.
your kids will get wet, they will get dirty, but they will have the time of their lives.
Next time it rains, don't keep your kids cooped up indoors. Let them go out and enjoy the weather. Just make sure they're properly dressed for the occasion and that you supervise them closely. With a little preparation and caution, playing in the rain can be a great experience for everyone involved.
