How Does Isha's home school work?

The structure is divided into

Junior School -The children develop basic skills in a variety of subjects that includes Languages, Environmental Studies, Sanskrit, Basic Science, and Mathematics.

Middle School - This is an integrated 3-year curriculum that provides learning skills in every subject. The subjects included are English, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics, Sanskrit, and Tamil.

Junior and Middle schools comprise nine “homes” and the Senior School learning center is a separate building of over 50,000 sq. feet called the Gnana Shala.

Senior School- When students go to grades 8-12, they are prepared to meet the requirements of a prescribed syllabus.

The students are allowed to pick their subjects from the choices offered by the Council, that are available in school.

This helps students in XI and XII Standard to continue their studies with a higher focus on their interests and higher education. The students have the freedom to choose 4-6 subjects from an extensive list of subjects offered by the school and the Council.

Isha Home School is affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).

They have a separate building for Senior School called the Gnana Shala (meaning “the abode of knowledge”). Admissions for each academic year begin around October of the preceding year. New students are chosen based on their academic ability, interests, and skills
